There are a ton of future scenarios in which Flying Wings may need to operate autonomously. Exercises like this are crucial to ensuring the concept of ACE is viable in future conflicts.
BL, the Air Force is trying to expand their flexibility and adaptability. Future military aviators will need to be capable of those same traits.
