I will caveat this with I did not do T-1s. However, the military will teach you everything you need to know. Even if you went T-6s first, you will still get to T-1s without the multi-engine knowledge. I would save your money and let them teach you what you need to know. Reply to UPT With Past Flying Experience
I had a similar experience in UPT. We had a dude with like 2,000+ hours, MEII. And he was good in (ahem) T-37s, but could not handle the T-38 and actually dropped out (before washing out). It was crazy to see how little total hours mattered in the end.

I have a love/hate relationship with the AC-130. Because when you show up in the CAS stack and they AC-130 is on station. You’re not getting any of the fun stuff. Sure, go look at this road and report, mabye keep and eye on the LZ but nothing important. Because it’s got all that way handled.
