The one at the Travis AFB testing center looks like it was pulled out of a storage box in someone’s basement from the 1960s. Even when it was “calibrated” it hardly functioned correctly. I’ve heard a wide range of stories about the equipment at testing centers, some better than others.
Allen and dirk-brabyRyan and
Nico are now connected a year agoIn terms of a specific model and brand I am not sure. I also don’t know if the stick I used was standard across all testing areas or if it varies. My experience, the stick was standard looking and better quality than I expected. Nothing unusual. Practicing with a cheap joystick was more than adequate and served me well.

What if the intercom didn’t work. Could they shout at each other in the cockpit?
What if the canopy was off? Goose would have lived but could anyone have heard him in a supersonic convertable?
When you took it, do you remember the joystick you used during the exam?
I took the actual TBAS last month. Your experience of it being inverted is the first I’ve heard. @kyle-duffee , it seems like Allen and I had differing experiences. I wasn’t aware it could potentially be inverted. If you know where you plan to take the test, it would probably be best to call and get info. I took my test on a base and the lady…
Did you take the actual test, or just the practice ones? I took the actual test, and it was in fact inverted.
PhillipsInteresting. That was not the case for me
