This is a question I get a lot: What does the deployment cycle look like in the Guard? What can I expect for long stints away from home?
The answer: it is always changing. Right now, the cycle is aligning with active duty and shouldering some more of the "total force burden". It looks like 6 months away from home about every 2 years or so with some shorter trips in between. Flying jets is awesome, but this is definitely something to consider!

I’m an active duty USN F-35C Panther driver who is very interested in full time ANG opportunities. I’m a fully qualified Team Lead, 4-ship instructor, and I have admin instructor quals as well. Currently teaching at the FRS (B-course equivalent) and I’ll be heading back to the fleet next year for a two year tour. I believe I’m a good candidate for AGR but I’m not a great candidate such as a TOPGUN graduate.
I’m currently about 3 years from my earliest separation opportunity. Do you think I could benefit from purchasing one month of BG Pro or one session of one-on-one coaching to formulate a strategy? I’m not quite convinced I’ll stand out from native USAF F-35 types and I have questions on how I could be a stand out candidate before I begin formally rushing units next year.

Something light for a Monday morning...
The 97th Air Mobility Wing is the "schoolhouse" for several USAF mobility airframes: the KC-135, KC-46, and the mighty C-17. Recently, the Wing hosted some interwebs personalities demonstrating the airdrop capabilities of the C-17. Though there are oodles of other "real world" C-17 airdrop videos, this was a pretty fun way to reach new/younger audiences. No basketballs were harmed in the making of this video.

Pausing NGAD? Well that's the headline, but the Secretary is careful to mention how committed he is to building the fighter.
The mixed messaging is going to be tough for congress to stomach….unless you are from Missouri or Illinois. I’d expect some hard lobbying from those states to keep the St Louis F-15EX line humming.
Maybe the head fake gets the ANG an extra squadron of Eagle 2s.

Check out this Open Until Filled (OUF) UPT C-5 opportunity. OUFs can sometimes indicate an opportunity, maybe the job is hard to fill, or maybe you won't have to interview 100 people.
Some folks love the C-5 (break in the nicest places)
But even if its not your number 1 is could get your foot in the door for a later conversion.
