ANG/AFRC Deployments
This is a question I get a lot: What does the deployment cycle look like in the Guard? What can I expect for long stints away from home?
The answer: it is always changing. Right now, the cycle is aligning with active duty and shouldering some more of the "total force burden". It looks like 6 months away from home about every 2 years or so with some shorter trips in between. Flying jets is awesome, but this is definitely something to consider!

What do the trips in between usually consist of?
Mike Ditzler : The trips between are probably similar to what you're used to already. 3-4 week excursions to WSEP, Sentry Savannah, or other training dets. Likely an overseas trip to a state partner nation (Guard states pair with allied countries for exchange). Then at least one qualifying event like Red Flag prior to leaving. Depending on the AOR, the spin up (or workups for you now) can change quite a bit.
