IPT
Wanted to provide some gouge for those interested. Guard/reserve will have class dates pretty much back to back. After OTS, SERE in WA - no woods for AMC guard/reserve. Then will PCS to UPT base. In processing was pretty painless just allow sufficient time for medical and getting name tapes/flight suits/etc. squared away. Great time to meet classmates. CRAFT workouts with strength/cognitive coaches & nutritionists. They’ll give you a workout plan to use while at IPT. Then pre-departure brief for IPT location. CAFB is going to locations in FL&GA. Vance & Laughlin spread between TX&AZ. You’ll go TDY to your IPT location. Civilian apartments and flight school. If you have ratings you’ll go into a proficiency/refresher course then onto your next set of curriculum. Then back to your UPT base for T-6 and your class will stick together unless people with ratings going into it get back sooner & into an earlier class.

Husky from what I’ve heard they’re still going to IPT in some capacity either way. Just depends on what 141 school they end up at. Some are trying to get students thru ASAP & others are able to stay longer. At my location there’s proficiency checks for those with ratings which are about 2 weeks each before moving onto whatever is next.

Awesome update! How are track select/assignments working? Assuming heavy platform selects go directly to their assigned aircraft schoolhouse from T-6s? Are Fighter/Bomber tracks staying at the UPT base for T-38s and then accomplishing an assignment night at the end of the 38?
CHAOS correct - heavies are going straight to their FTU and the T-1 is no more. I believe the XPW program is also phased out. Regarding the 38 question, yes that is also correct. The UPT syllabus is now shortened to 4-6 months for the T-6. Piling onto Husky question heard from a friend at another IPT location their whole class is going thru the full program despite previous ratings. They have a few CFI’s and a regional captain starting at PPL. So just confirms it varies by location.
