Airshows
Good morning everyone. My family and I unfortunately missed Sun n' Fun this year and my kids have been not-so-subtly accusing me of depriving them of aviation awesomeness. I figured I'd ask the crowd...what are the best airshows you'd recommend for seeing cool airplanes and getting to interact with the flight crews?
I think it's hard to beat Oshkosh. You get a bit of everything from kit planes, to F-22s, and it's a second home for aviation enthusiasts worldwide. The airshow at NAS Oceana is also a great one to see tons of military action and get the chance to meet some of the pilots. In my opinion, the best flying to see happens out at NAF El Centro in February to March as the Blue Angels do their winter training. There's a dirt road that leads up to runway 30 where you can park your car and the jets fly probably 20 feet above your head. Permanently ruined airshows for me haha.
