What I found the most helpful and insightful was getting the viewpoint of someone who has looked at applications as a member of a hiring board. It changed my view on some things, and helped me identify what to highlight and what is not important. He caught some grammatical mistakes, recommended changes to formatting and things that should be highlighted that I did not include, as well as things I included that are not harmful, but also not very beneficial. Like focusing on manned aviation only, and not including much about my unmanned aviation background.
Getting insight into what members of a hiring board are generally looking for was incredibly helpful to me. Chris made a lot of great recommendations and explained his reasoning.

I purchased the 1 Hour Interview Prep Add-On and chose to work with D.J. as I was prepping for a C-130 interview. I found this to be incredibly helpful. D.J. was awesome to work with. He gave me his undivided attention and even worked with my tight deadline. As a C-130 pilot himself, D.J. was able to provide insight to the perspective the hiring board would have and what they were trying to determine with each question. D.J.’s coaching style was the perfect balance of honest/critical and encouraging. After 2 sessions with him, I felt confident and prepared for my interview and was hired by a C-130 unit! Coming from the civilian world, I had a few friends who were in the Air Force. However, whenever I would ask them to proof my documents, I would get a plethora of different opinions without any solution.

AAs an aircraft mechanic at a collegiate flight school, I am surrounded by flight instructors, flight students, and aspiring pilots. Without D.J.’s help, my application would have been just adequate and far too long.
The only thing I would say is having one set style potentially makes it obvious that several applicants may have all gone through the same service? The one other thing I’d say is, for those of us that are a bit older and lots of work experience, the format for work and school sections adds some unnecessary lines and shortens the space for details in each bullet. Of course, that also forces brevity, which also has a lot of merit.
Hopefully I get some interview selections and then get the interview prep package!
