That is what recharges your battery. Friday night, Saturdays and some of Sunday spend time with family doing something you love. Sunday afternoon, get back to studying!

MemberSeptember 17, 2023 at 6:51 pm in reply to: Active Duty USAF Pilot w/ Family Lifestyle50 BogiPointsI can’t attest to USAF but I can say what we tell people signing up for the flight school I work at that offers an intense full time program somewhat similar to UPT: It will be the hardest thing you’ve ever done. You will need to commit your entire life to it. From dawn to dusk, you will be committed to studying and being a pilot. You won’t have time to pick your kids up from school. You should be able to tuck them into bed but you won’t be there when they wake up nor attend school events too much. Weekends you’ll have off for the most part but not guaranteed (UPT may vary)
You must expect that your wife will be like a single parent in a way because they’re the one maintaining the household while you’re away.
If this is something your family is willing to commit to, then go for it!

Be yourself.
Be confident.
Have fun.
That’s the best I can give. It wasn’t a complicated interview.

I spoke with a Raptor instructor the other night and he said the best way he could describe pulling G’s is doing a leg press with the heaviest weight you can while having your friend stand on your chest.
He said it is moreso lower body strength.
CrossFit is one of the best regimes to succeed in this regard.

I couldn’t get help from my local recruiter despite the whole website pointing to him. Then I found out it’s not technically his job with UPT packages, which is why he wasn’t prioritizing it. So, I took it on my own to contact a local ROTC unit and took the AFOQT and TBAS there.
Don’t go through a recruiter. They’re absolutely useless unless they aren’t. I had one recruiter help answer a lot of side questions for me, even though he wasn’t a part of that process. When I went to the interview, I made sure I went and shook his hand. But everything was done on my own.

Yeah, I’m definitely eager to lean on that law but if I go Frontier route I’m not an employee until I get an FO training date, so have a while for that.
Hoping to be in a fighter sooner than later though

As I mentioned, I didn’t goof or do anything to automatically eliminate me from future consideration so not sure what’s up this year

MemberAugust 21, 2023 at 5:14 pm in reply to: Preparations for UPT phone interview50 BogiPointsDid they mass email everyone or are they gradually reaching out to people? I got the final interview last year but haven’t heard from them about phone interview yet.
P.S Interview went alright so I doubt they’re kicking me away
