For the shelf: M3: The mile, the Mach the minute. No heroics here – its just about mental math for pilots; but seriously one of the most useful books.

Boyd: The Fighter Pilot Who Changed the Art of War by Robert Coram
This book was an awesome deep dive into old-school fighter culture and the behind-the-scenes politics that shaped some of the most iconic jets still flying today, including the F-15, F-16, and B-1. It really highlights the value of doing your homework and being prepared, but…KristinAFOQT Math Components and Formulas

I’ll go first: “A Nightmare’s Prayer”. Great account of the first USMC Harrier unit to stand up ops at Bagram in 2002.

BogiDope team,
A group like this is always on the hunt for new knowledge and expanded horizons. I would be willing to bet there are a lot of readers in the group. This discussion thread can serve as the “squadron shelf” where you can leave your aviation/military book recommendations or stop by for your next read. Question for the group, do you feel that SUAS belongs in the Air Force and should be it be flown by USAF pilots?
SUAS are coming to the DoD in a big way, but currently there are no plans for a specific MDS or AFSC to fly them. The below article did an excellent job of highlighting dangers that come from SUAS, with the main point being that…

Great articles DJ! I probably did this the hardest way and went line by line through my military flight records and put them all into an excel doc. That took me forever but the benefit was being able to account for every PIC sortie and identifying any discrepancies. But like the articles mention, MilKeep is a great option as well!
