Thank you! I previously tried contacting someone from there and it seems that it may be a little outdated because I received a different contact and I’m still trying to find who I need. I’ll make a few more calls. Thank you!

Advice On Best Ways to Have a Competitive Chance
Aaron,
There are a few options you can take with this. Again none of this is required but the worst thing would be getting selected then DQ’d.
Easiest and fastest would be to use the BogiDope resource. BogiDope offers a medical consultation where you can ask any and all questions with no repercussions.
Next would be if you can get ahold of a local…

Advice On Best Ways to Have a Competitive Chance
Thank you for your detailed answer, this helps so much! You mentioned to speak to an expert on USAF medical regulations but I am unsure where I would find one. Are you saying to speak to an AME or would I need some sort of connection inside the military to consult with said expert?

You can contact them and inform them of what you are looking for on the UPT side of the house and they will usually have info the pilots give them to pass along. Here is the link to…

Advice On Best Ways to Have a Competitive Chance
I’m sure all of those things are important factors to certain squadrons. However, there are also people who get hired with zero flight hours, low scores, and degrees that are not aviation or engineering related. You seem pretty motivated so control what you can and put yourself in a good position to apply. Chase the dream, never know what could happen.

Advice On Best Ways to Have a Competitive Chance
Scenario:
I have been extremely interested in military flying and know I have the smarts to be a successful pilot. The one thing holding me back is a head injury I had 4 years ago. The FAA requires a 5 year recovery period before I can apply for my flight medical. I have no adverse affects of the injury and scored a 91 on the ASVAB when I took it…

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to do my best with research to figure out which airframes and units I am most interested in. I’ve been trying to reach out to squadrons including those that don’t necessarily have their inboxes open for applications. One unit I’ve been struggling to find a good contact for is the 731st airlift squadron. Does…
