Hello everyone, hope all is well.
I am new to Bogidope and looking for honest guidance and information. I currently am 21 years old and I have been flying in the civilian world since I was 18. I have a little below 2000 hrs currently and sitting around 600 PIC turbine time in a PC-12, C-208, and BE-200. I am also within 1 year of completing my aviation science degree and thankfully holding a 4.0 as of now. I also have zero busted check-rides so far. I truly love to learn and I look forward to the possibility of getting rid of bad flying habits and growing as a pilot in the military.
It has been my life long dream to be a fighter pilot and i’m now using every waking hour to get closer to this goal of becoming an Air National Guard pilot. I am looking to start the AFOQT and TBAS as soon as possible.
Any guidance and knowledge is greatly appreciated as I am a new married man looking to lead my family to a meaningful future.

Currently at Vance AFB, waiting to start IPT, and I was wondering what the best way is to electronically log both civilian and military flight hours. I have my PPL, but I want to start keeping electronic records, especially as I begin flying military. Are there any apps/software y'all recommend for keeping track of both? And is it recommended to keep track of civ and mil time in the same paper logbook?
Hello everyone, I wanted to officially introduce myself to the community. I’ve been a member since late 2025, quietly gathering information from those with more experience and learning as much as I can to become the strongest applicant possible. I’m currently active‑duty Air Force, stationed at WPAFB, serving as a 1D7 COMM troop. I'm 27 years old (turning 28 this coming April). I’m a bit older than the average applicant, but I see that as motivation rather than a limitation. I’m enrolled at ERAU in Aeronautical Science, with about two years left before completing my degree.
During my time in service, I’ve been fortunate to reach some milestones: Airman of the Year 2026, BTZ 2026, and earning my Private Pilot certificate. My ultimate goal is fighters — I know age makes that path more challenging, but it’s a challenge I’m ready to take on. I took the AFOQT last November and plan to retake it later this year or early 2027.
While fighters are my dream, I’m open to any opportunity that gets me in the air. More than anything, I want to learn from the best, contribute to a community that shares my passion for aviation, and push myself to grow both professionally and personally.
It's a pleasure to be here to connect with others; I look forward to learning from you all and, hopefully, giving back along the way.

UKR really has paved the way with drone warfare and other countries, such as Iran, have stake in the drone game. The US defense budget can trump some countries GDP which is why we’re able to have such a robust and well trained force, but how do other countries tap into the game? Drones. They are vastly cheaper to produce and can be produced in more quantities that say F-35s per year. Here is an article about a new CENTCOM TF designed to counter and play the offensive as well.
