I'd love to hear from the BogiDope community today. What wins did you experience this past week?
The kids all started school this week, so last week we did our best to soak up the last bits of summer. We had the opportunity to spend some time at the beach (bragging) and it just so happened that several of the local ANG aircraft were flying by. I suppose it wasn't "my" success since I was earthbound admiring the jets flying overhead...but it was a moment of pride knowing that I had been a part of something so great for so many years!

The SecAF sat down for an interview at EAA Oshkosh last week. Some interesting initiatives down the road, but also a bit of a wave-tops peek at what the future of the total force may look like. The other interesting part is the context: the civilian leadership of the USAF talking to media at a civilian airshow says a lot about what the messaging of initiatives looks like. Many of the things the SecAF describes are planned to execute during the careers of up and coming BogiDope pilots!

Hey everybody!
I wondered if anyone has insight into whether it's possible/how common it is for an active duty pilot to switch platforms from heavies to fighters...I'm guessing that if it's possible, it's something that happens once you're pretty well established as a pilot?

With the C-17 expected to fly into the 2070s, the availability of parts becomes a pressing issue. They recently found a creative solution to source a part to keep a jet flying rather than sitting in storage for years for repair work.
