25 years old to be considered?
A couple of sources have indicated that one fighter unit is not considering applicates who will be older than 27 when UPT starts. So that would be about 25 at the interview.
First off….we’ll see. Its hard for a <25 year old to have a competitive PCSM and resume so that rule might become more of a guideline.
Second,…
Allen, neley and 11 others1 Comment163rd POC Recruiter told me the same thing about fighter squadrons hiring 26 years of age and below. however, I still applied with my application and im over 30.

Latest on IPT
BLUF: IPT = commercial multi+instrument at a part 141 civilian facility. Then T-6s at a UPT base
This article tracks with other sources and gives some visibility on what IPT is likely to look like.
Should be a fun and rewarding experience and I think it’s great for the LTs going through.
My personal opinion is that it won’t help…

1Thanks Husky for the intel, do you know what happens if a student already has their civilian ratings? Would they just go straight to the T-6?

Dude those are great questions and truthfully the USAF is struggling to answer. .
I’m an F-16 FAC(A) (Misty) and so CAS is my bread and butter but F-16 FACs are relatively uncommon and even rarer of the F-35 side.
The SEAD (weasel) mission is definitely transitioning to the F-35.
CSAR (Sandy) has traditionally been a A-10 only mission. We looked…
CAGE and Tex@Curevich , if you have any universities near you with ROTC detachments, it may also be worth contacting them to see if they can help you out. I’ve seen folks in the past be able to schedule through them. I hope this helps, and good luck!

Hello sir!
Currently at USAF OTS eyeing the F35 in the future. SEAD, CAS, and the Sandy mission are the three missions that speak to me the most. With the A-10 going away, does the F-35 syllabus support full-scale CAS after the A-10 winds down, or is it a Big Blue pipedream that the F-35 is an adequate replacement?
Thanks,

Thank you for the quick reply Clinton. All I need is a sliver of hope (and decent test scores) and I’m going to go for it.
I know discussing this stuff publicly can be kind of taboo, but if anyone in the community has a similar story and is willing to connect, I would love to and really appreciate your help!

Hey KevTryFly,
There are waivers for most things – you don’t know until you try (and keep trying until you reach your goal). I was told “Thank you for applying but we have selected someone else” more times than I can remember over a 3-4yr span before I was selected by my current unit.
The best bet is to gather as much of your medical…

Hi all!
Recently joined the forums and have been digging and digging for medical answers or comparative situations on here to no avail.
I was in the process of starting civilian flight training a few years ago before the medical stopped me in my tracks. After years of getting everything in order and living the best life I can, I’m ready to put…Poo-Picasso started the discussion F-35 Gouge in the forum Air Force a year ago
