Is the Maximum Age You Have to Be Hired by 33 or Start UPT By 33?
So what does that mean exactly? If I am reading it correctly that means I just have to be hired by the board before 33 but can start UPT later.

Is the Maximum Age You Have to Be Hired by 33 or Start UPT By 33?
There seems to be a ton of confusion on this. I could have sworn the regulation was you had to be hired by 33 but I’m being told by Guard Units, Reserve Units and Officer Recruiters that you have to start UPT by your 33rd Birthday. Does anyone have a copy of the regulation? Preferably a PDF. I’ve been Googling but can’t seem to find it.

I’m currently at Ft Novosel for flight training and I’m in the guard. Feel free to message me and I’ll help you with whatever I can. Taking the SIFT and getting the flight physical done are probably the two biggest steps I would say.

One of my friends just got picked up by the PA Army National Guard for street to seat, he started by calling and meeting with his recruiter. They got him in for testing, paperwork, and an interview. His process took about 9 months from meeting with his recruiter to getting sworn in.

Any advice for a civilian trying to get a foot in the door? I’m likely most interested in WO, Guard or Reserve but also entertaining AD. I have yet to take the ASVAB and SIFT but have excellent and decent AFOQT and ASTB scores respectively, so hoping the biggest hurdle will be just getting them arranged. I’m trying to understand if…

Hey dude! When is that rush event going down? Is it invite only or is it open to whoever would like to head out there? I’m still putting my packet together and won’t have my AFOQT done until the end of the summer; but I wouldn’t mind making connections and chatting with dudes early on!

It’s also a huge resource generator for the unit. An alert mission will usually add 10 pilots and dozens of maintainers.
Why might this matter to you? Well (all else being equal) units with an ACA mission can keep more folks full-time and may feel a bit busier day to day.
