  1. Chris has a vast knowledge of the application process, the Guard, the Reserve, and all the finer details that can make or break an application. He knew what information to draw out of me and how to apply it in a way that made my application significantly stronger. He took my package to a level I would have never achieved on my own.

Not a single minute felt wasted. We covered a lot of ground, and I left the session with a clear set of improvements and next steps without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. From the moment we began, he had a structured approach and knew exactly how to guide the conversation. It gave me confidence that my time was being respected and that I was working with someone who takes the process seriously.

What stood out to me the most was how personally invested Chris was in my success. It didn’t feel generic. He genuinely took the time to learn about my background, highlight my strengths, and identify areas for improvement. Honestly, I can’t think of anything that needs improving. The consultation exceeded my expectations in every way.

  2. Chris “Sharky” Mazzei was awesome to work with. My biggest struggle was how to approach some questions, and he helped me a ton. I really appreciated his feedback and felt that it was well worth the cost.

  3. I would recommend all applicants to run through a medical consultation even if there are no medical issues to address. I walked away with a better understanding of the MEPS process and the FC1 process as well. 100% made me more prepared for what may be to come.

Initially, I thought it was going to be a little too much for just 45 min, but we talked for about an hour and it was worth every penny.

Tigger answered every question I had and some. She was amazing!!!

  4. SIC’s ability to bring out passion and the best in candidates is truly an art. I’ve enjoyed listening to his mindset on certain interview questions. We schemed ways for me to tailor my life experiences into solid interview questions. He really took the time to listen to my story and help guide me to solid interview responses.

  5. CHAOS truly cares about your responses and provides real, honest feedback on how to improve responses. We schemed responses and practiced a handful of different ones. He threw some questions at me that I wasn’t prepared for, which helped me in the long run. I didn’t feel unprepared for the job at all, and am very glad I paid for the Interview Prep sessions. These are essential for fighter pilot interview prep!

  6. Before the Bootcamp, I was figuring things out on my own and unsure if I was on the right path. Joining gave me the push and clarity I needed to build a competitive package. The bootcamp coaches who have board selection experience gave direct feedback, and I always knew what to work on next. What surprised me most was how diverse the peer group was in their aviation experience and package stats. Even though we were all trying to earn a pilot slot, it felt like everyone was rooting for each other to win. Successfully completing the course, I walked away confidently prepared with a clear sense of my package and how I can be an asset in serving as an officer and a pilot. The BogiDope Bootcamp is the best investment for your aviation future.

  7. Being part of Bogidope Boot Camp 25-1 was an incredible experience. The opportunity to work directly with multiple coaches who are current military pilots was invaluable. They helped me fine-tune every aspect of my application, from my resume and cover letters to my interview responses. A special shoutout to SIC, whose energy and insight during interview prep were unmatched. He has a real gift for helping you craft strong, authentic responses that stand out. I was honored to be selected as one of four finalists for the mock hiring board, which realistically simulated a unit interview. It was one of the most valuable and motivating parts of the experience. I walked away from the boot camp feeling prepared, confident, and ready to compete for a UPT slot. I highly recommend this program to anyone serious about becoming a military aviator.

  8. I am so thankful I found this bootcamp at the very start of my application journey. Without a doubt, I have saved months of my time and effort by doing this bootcamp. I’m walking away with so much more confidence by having practical, actionable and inspirational help from coaches that know the ins and outs of how the guard/reserves work.

  9. Getting to be a part of the 25-1 BogiDope Bootcamp was an amazing experience! In 8 weeks, you can go from just starting out on the path to become a military aviator in the Guard or Reserve to a fully prepared applicant that could do an interview tomorrow and know what to expect. There’s no longer a need to ask Google or Reddit forms any questions about the process, lifestyle, or what it takes when you have all the information available to you through BogiDope, its resources, and group of coaches that help you along the way. The email notification for this Bootcamp landed in my inbox at perfect time, and I do not regret joining it as an investment into my future one bit. I highly recommend the BogiDope Bootcamp and the rest they have to offer.

  10. The BogiDope BootCamp was a great experience that has fully prepared me to be a competitive candidate for UPT boards. The BogiDope coaches were extremely thorough in answering questions during the live sessions and provided strong, actionable feedback on all UPT application documents. I highly recommend the BootCamp to anyone that is serious about getting a UPT slot.

  11. CAGE was awesome, really smart guy, articulate, and helped me rephrase a few answers to flow more smoothly and communicate more clearly what i wanted to. Helped me smooth out some rough edges on some of my answers. Helped a ton, huge confidence boost going into my next interview. i was unsure about spending the money for the consultation but it ended up being worth every penny. I consider myself to be a decent interviewer but this helped so much more than i thought it would.

  12. DJ was very knowledgeable and was able to give me enough information to allow me to make a decision regarding the future of my career. Everything was great. Keep it exactly the way it is.

  13. CHAOS was extremely helpful and insightful. He always comes prepared to provide honest answers and has a true care for the person he’s speaking with. I’ve seen it in both Open Office Hour sessions and in 1-on-1s. He makes you feel like your time was valued and that you are taking steps in the right direction. He’s a great coach all-around!

  14. SIC was super helpful! Had a good format for the hour/went over all of the big questions, was really generous with his time, and was supportive and encouraging even when I know some of my answers sucked.

SIC helped break down the questions in a way that was really helpful in comparison to just going through the online prep. Going through the online prep felt pretty overwhelming at times, and he had clear methods that simplified a lot of what the online prep suggested.

I really appreciated how encouraging SIC was throughout the whole hour! I was so stressed about my interview, knew a lot of my answers didn’t sound good, and was nervous about meeting with a bogidope rep and having my lack of preparation highlighted. He was so positive, constructive, and concise in what the structure and critical components to include in your responses are.

  15. This service was extremely useful. Like many aspiring military aviators, I have already done a lot of research and legwork on my own accord. This service allowed to be better focus on what matters more strategically while also getting connected with an already niche community. I likely saved months of time from taking less efficient steps in my main goal or otherwise trying to spend hours digging for it in outdated sources.

Husky was awesome. By sheer coincidence he resided fairly close to where I am at as well in the Ventura/LA area. Encouraged me to get connected with others seriously hustling this path in the Bogidope services while also offering points of contact beyond the strategy session. He also provided precise actionable steps.

The pricetag being close to $100 was a bit steep for me considering I am a college student and largely self-funded in my entire journey. Something closer to $50 – $65 would be more accessible for me.

  16. Chris was amazing. We did 2 sessions, packet and interview prep. He said my packet was solid and didn’t have too much feedback, and I agree it’s overall solid. Quickly we pivoted to interview prep. The second session was interview prep, and honestly, 90% of his questions were almost exactly what I encountered in the interview. His feedback was crucial to my experience, and I felt completely prepared for the interview. As the questions rolled on, I could see exactly how Chris wanted me to answer them, and my answers felt natural because I had just practiced the night before.

Scheduling was super easy, Chris was available a couple days after I signed up and I appreciated being able to see his availability.

I didn’t find the course too helpful, but I’ve interviewed before. From an outside perspective it definitely has some good info, and the “ways” of answering questions was helpful.

At first I thought it was the expensive, but after my experience with Chris I absolutely see the value. I didn’t know what to expect going into it, and I’m very glad I did.

  17. Chris “Sharky” Mazzei was unbelievably helpful. He gave awesome insight in small details that I looked over with my initial preparation for my interview, and I was left feeling 1000% more confident in how to prepare better going forward. Please do yourself the favor of giving a coaching session a try, you will not regret it!

Chris recognized my lack of readiness with grace and was extremely generous with going past the time allotted time to make sure I was provided with well intended and useful critique on my questions and how I answered the mock interview questions.

  18. Pros: Francis was very very helpful. Will be following up with her to make a game plan for the next few years. She gave me a full hour which I very much appreciated.

Cons: It was a little convoluted as far as the (sign up) process goes. After you become a member I feel like the signup page should look different, or just show the price based on your membership. The value was definitely there, but I feel it was like 40-50% more expensive than it should have been.

  19. If you were like me, then you likely were skeptical about this service at first. I decided to purchase it, and am 100% glad I did. If you are serious about flying for the Air National Guard or Air Force, please have a meeting and alleviate yourself of all the constant Googling. Frances “Tigger” Burress was extremely helpful, informative, and I left the session having every question I could think of answered. I feel much more confident about my fitness to fly now.

  20. Chaos was great. He not only hepled with my resume and letter but he gave me a greater understanding of the culture of fighter pilots. Although I’m an Army officer, I did not really understand the ins and outs of what fighter pilots look for in applicants and future team mates.

Hopefully I’ll be back in a few months with some good news and an interview. Looking forward to doing an interview prep session!

  21. We ended up using more time, and I’m grateful to Biggs for being accommodating and flexible it felt like the focus was on making sure I was prepared and understood what needed to still be done.

I really appreciated the time, thoroughness, and expertise with which all my questions were handled, I left with new goals ahead, and a lot more confident than going in. Super grateful for the opportunity.

  22. SIC was awesome through and through. Super knowledgeable, and got right to the heart of the matter quickly and tactfully. Honestly, it’s just cool talking one on one with you guys. Could do it for hours haha!

~ $100 an hour is a lot, especially considering the total cost of the platform. That said, all of your time is super valuable (which I respect), and the information on the site/access to you guys is almost invaluable. That said, I likely would not have booked it had it been too much more expensive.

Totally unrelated to the value on the site, but the site itself can be slow sometimes. Maybe it’s just on my end, it would definitely smooth things up if the site was a tiny bit more responsive.

  23. I will be recording a correction to this video for AI-1 #10. I had a chance to pick a Helo CFI’s brain while tutoring him for the AFOQT.

  24. I will be recording a correction to this video for AI-1 #10. I had a chance to pick a Helo CFI’s brain while tutoring him for the AFOQT.

  25. I can’t say enough how invaluable Gunboss is, I am slowly making my way through all of his videos and paired with my one on ones, I have improved immensely. When I do his math videos, I like to pause the video when he puts up a question. Set a timer for 00:01:15 try it myself with that added stress of being timed. Then watch him do it. Thank you Gunboss!

  26. I wish Francis was my flight doc full time! Was looking at making the jump from Navy to ANG with some concerns about flight status on the Navy side. Francis was extremely knowledgeable and helped me track down the specifics I needed to make an informed decision with my future. She clearly loves what she does and takes a deep interest in those she serves. Awesome resource for anyone looking to navigate the wild and obscure world of aviation medicine. Highly recommend

  27. Had a great session with Chaos. Super helpful and willing to answer questions about any step of the process. Really helped me streamline my resume

  28. Sharky was very knowledgeable answering questions and provided great feedback in preparation for Rushing events. Got some great information to help going forward, and will definitely use interview coaching if I receive invitations to interview from any units!

  29. Anyone with aspirations to fly in the military should schedule a meeting here on BogiDope. They care about my future and want you to succeed.

CHAOS was a complete professional in all aspects. Had a great meeting with him! You guys have a terrific system! I can’t wait to use it again as I get closer to the hiring process in my journey. It’s a privilege to work with y’all.

  30. I had two meetings with Chris and both meetings were extremely helpful and covered every major question I was asked in my interview. I liked how Chris simplified everything and was a great communicator. Each answer I had for his mock interview questions he refined and helped me relate it to being an officer/pilot in the Air Force.

In both of my sessions, he went over the allotted time and we even went over some things that were not a part of the interview. Specifically, we went over the “pilot meet and greet” and I felt super well prepared for it I got feedback from one of the guys in the Squadron and he said all the officers had nothing but great things to say.

  31. CHAOS was extremely helpful and took the time to walk through all aspects of my app. He went over the allotted time to make sure that I was squared away, and really cared about helping me look as competitive as possible. I wasn’t sure that the session was going to be worth the money but I would absolutely do it again and recommend it to anyone thinking of submitting an application!

  32. John is a excellent coach! His questions were spot on and his suggestions helped me frame my answers in a more compelling way which yielded to a much better result. I highly recommend anyone pursuing a pilot slot to use Bogidope and their coaching sessions.

  33. Chaos is awesome and went above and beyond to help me prepare for my interview. He was very clear of what I did right, what I did wrong and how to improve my answers and performance. Hands down one of the best coaches here!

  34. Overall, great experience Chris is very knowledgeable and knows how to pull the information out and word it in the best kind of way. It’s also great that the information is recorded so can go back and review any details after.

  35. Rick was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He provided the exact insights I needed and so much more to understand what units are looking for and how to prepare. This took my application to the next level! Very excited to implement everything going forward. The feedback was perfect and extremely helpful. Helped me not only understand the how, but also the why.

Keep it up! I the product quality at BogiDope is incredibly high and seems to be improving. I really appreciate everything you guys do.

  36. The interview prep was definitely expensive, especially since most people who are trying to become pilots have huge loans in order to even afford flight training. It would be nice if it was more affordable, or it would even be nice if you didn’t have to pay to be a BogiDope member and have access to content. Aside from these recommendations, I want to say that CHAOS did an awesome job and was very helpful! 1 on 1 interview prep is definitely something I will recommend and I will recommend it with him.

  37. As someone who is just starting to navigate the world of ANG, I found that the session equipped me with more than enough information to confidently begin the processes involved. Chaos had a ton of excellent advice regarding starting to build your application and rushing units.

  38. Dr. Althoff was extremely knowledgeable, kind, patient, and truly cared to set me up for success. This is the most useful feature in all of bogidope. Some questions can not be answered by google alone. Knowledge from someone with first hand experience was priceless.

  39. Frances “Tigger” Burress is an exceptional human and an extremely knowledgeable professional. There was not a single question or concern that she could not answer or reassure. I first met with Tigger a little less than a year ago for a consultation and was very satisfied with her knowledge and genuine care for my future and success. Over this year going through different medical questions and concerns Tigger has continually worked with me and answered every single question that I have. I am now confident about my medical history and the chance of obtaining a Flying Class 1 medical. I highly recommend Tigger for a medical consultation.

  40. CHAOS went above and beyond to prepare me for my interview by working with me for almost two hours! He was very helpful and really took the time to get to know me so he could give me the best possible chance of getting a guard UPT slot.

  41. Husky was extremely knowledgeable and he truly wanted to make sure that by the end of the session I knew exactly how to articulate how my past experiences will allow me to be an asset to the squadron. I’m definitely taking a new approach to answering some of my questions but I got great feedback on other questions so it’s good to know I was on the right path with those.

  42. Chris provided fantastic insight and helped me prepare for the interview more than I could have asked for. While it was expensive, I do feel as though it was great value and worth every penny. I’m highly satisfied with the interview prep. You can tell Chris truly cares about helping potential candidates reach their goals.

  43. Chris was great. I went into this course questioning if I would get my moneys worth out of it, and Chris exceeded my expectations. I even told Chris that I would pay for the interview prep at that moment because I was very happy with the application 1on1.

  44. This is honestly an amazing service, and gave me a clear path forward as I navigate any potential hurdles.

Hollywood was legitimately a pleasure to talk with as he was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. But, on top of his medical expertise, he also shared a considerable amount with me about life in the ANG, and what to expect and what I can (hopefully) look forward to with this career.

  45. Meeting with Chris was very helpful, we covered everything I wanted to cover, and his input was great. The first meeting had the most progress, but after the two meetings I feel that my application is much stronger.

  46. What I found the most helpful and insightful was getting the viewpoint of someone who has looked at applications as a member of a hiring board. It changed my view on some things, and helped me identify what to highlight and what is not important. He caught some grammatical mistakes, recommended changes to formatting and things that should be highlighted that I did not include, as well as things I included that are not harmful, but also not very beneficial. Like focusing on manned aviation only, and not including much about my unmanned aviation background.

Getting insight into what members of a hiring board are generally looking for was incredibly helpful to me. Chris made a lot of great recommendations and explained his reasoning.

  47. Was the coach prepared? John was awesome, and I was quite impressed with how aware he was of my circumstances he was from the information that I provided in the scheduling questionnaire. I have shown up to second and third job interviews where the interviewer knew less about me than John did, so I was almost taken aback by how seriously he seemed to take understanding my situation and my goals.

Time allotted – Interestingly enough, I actually thought that 30 minutes was sufficient (and actually cut my time short because I had asked everything I wanted to ask). I understand it may be too difficult, but I would actually prefer cheaper 30 minute calls which would enable me to provide updates, ask any additional questions, and get more specific advice at several points throughout the long and arduous process of applying to units.

Things to improve – Completely and totally nitpicking (but from what I understand, that’s what debriefs are for), but the confirmation email for the general strategy session had a bit in there about replying to the email to tell the coach exactly what I wanted to focus on, though I had just filled out a questionnaire with that information, so I wasn’t sure if the information in the questionnaire was lost in the ether. However, I was hesitant to reach out directly because I understand that John is incredibly busy and I didn’t want to unnecessarily inundate him with more emails. As I said, an incredibly small detail, but something that I did spend some time debating because the process wasn’t crystal clear.

Overall – I legitimately couldn’t believe that I was actually talking to a fighter pilot for a second at the beginning, because it is just such an amazing opportunity to be able to go directly to such a knowledgable source for a process as difficult as this. There are dozens of moving parts that take place over years, so having this avenue to remove any guesswork and ensure that you are consistently focusing your efforts on the most pressing items that may be preventing you from a dream job is just an unbelievable resource.

BogiDope is such an unbelievably valuable resource, and after my short interaction with John (and listening to many of the webinars), I will undoubtedly be purchasing more 1-on-1 classes as I begin checking off some of the boxes on this journey. I honestly likely wouldn’t have the confidence to attempt this career path without the guidance and wisdom that I have received from the BogiDope ecosystem so far, and I’m just getting started with my membership.

  48. The mentorship I got from CHAOS was invaluable. To get guidance from an actual fighter pilot boosted my confidence so much. I have no doubt that the support I was given was an absolute game changer – worth every cent!

  49. Chris went above and beyond to teach me how to do well in upcoming UPT boards. He was friendly, approachable, and never rushed me at any point. But he also didn’t mince words, and I’m glad he didn’t. I’m more than certain that all of the BogiDope coaches are upstanding gentlemen who know what they’re doing and are passionate about helping the next generation of aviators, but Chris is the cream of the crop. Do not let him go! Thank you again, Chris!

  50. CHAOS was excellent, super helpful, with direct, actionable items that helped me target specific improvements between our sessions.

Went through the “Interview Prep” program for an Active Duty slot. The information shared, structure of the sessions, and overall benefit when it came to game time was invaluable. If anything to help with peace of mind hearing directly from folks who are already in flying positions, to help guide you or tie any loose ends.

Do your homework as you prep, hit it hard, and know you’re in good hands.

I used items from the coaching in every question I was asked in the interview. Invaluable benefit. 1,000% recommend!

  51. Chris Mazzei 1 on 1 coaching is a total lifesaver, he made feel confident and prepared for my interview. He left no stone unturned and is extremely knowledgeable about the interview process. If your going heavies, give him a call. Needless to say, I got my dream job. Thanks Bogidope.

  52. Thank you to Frances and the BogiDope team! The consultation was more then I could have asked for. Issues and concerns were addressed thouroughly. Insight was provided and easing. Frances brings so much knowledge and experience to the conversation. I highly recommned the consulation for anyone looking to fly in the Army who is stressed about the medical process, has questions about the process, or needs to run concerns by a highly professional individual.

  53. HUSKY was awesome! Super helpful, gave a ton of insightful comments on my resume / cover letter, and was very open about any questions I had on my application. Helped to highlight different parts of my resume that, while present in my previous draft, needed a bit more highlighting.

Being someone who is constrained on money (student loans, rent, car payments, flight school, and a job that doesn’t pay great) I think a cheaper course would have been easier. This was sort of something that Husky and I discussed that I didn’t know about. A lot of the kids who can afford these courses may use their family’s past wealth to pay for it. Given that I don’t have that luxury, it becomes a bit harder. Therefore, a cheaper course would have been financially easier for me.

Please note, this is not at all a reflection on the quality of the session with HUSKY. HUSKY was awesome, super prepared (even sent me stuff outside of the mentoring session), gave insightful comments, critiques, and provided more realism about the squadrons that I would not have otherwise known.

Overall very happy. Could be cheaper.

  54. Really appreciated how positive and friendly Frances was, and how prepared she was, having read my medical reports prior to our meeting. Also appreciated her being realistic about challenges in passing a flight physical in my particular case and her experience at MEPs and what to expect. Wish I could provide something helpful to say for improvement but I wouldn’t change anything.

  55. CHOAS was an outstanding coach and I would look to him again in the future for anything ANG related. He did an outstanding job with both sessions. I felt he put in a lot of time and effort to provide me with some great feedback.

  56. The man, the myth, the legend Husky was a rockstar from the moment our session started until (I’d assume) well after. He was personable and professional and incredibly knowledgeable. He came very prepared and had clearly reviewed and put serious thought into the input I provided before the session. I’m very grateful to him and to BogiDope for the excellent service provided and highly recommend chatting with him if you need some guidance. Thanks, Husky!
    -Nick

  57. My application review session with Chaos was a game-changer. He provided some great feedback on my package and pushed me one step closer to landing my dream job.

  58. Frances Burress was incredibly helpful, she took her time to answer all my questions and made sure that I was well informed. I had stated my question in the notes section when I booked the meeting and she was well prepared and ready for the meeting, I would recommend her to anyone.

  59. I recently had the privilege of meeting with Frances “Tigger” Burress, and I can not express enough how grateful I am for the exceptional insight provided. Major Burress’s expertise and attention to detail was evident from the moment I hopped on the zoom call. She gave me advising on my current medical hurdles and even brought some things up that I would not have considered. All and all, she helped me be as prepared as I can be at this stage in my application process. I will definitely be seeking advising from Major Burress in the future as I get closer to submitting my medical documents. I can wholeheartedly recommend medical consultation with professionals like Major Burress through BogiDope. Her kindness, expertise, and unwavering dedication to patient care are qualities that truly set her apart. I am profoundly grateful for her help during a critical moment in my life.

  60. Tigger and the consultation was exactly what we needed. She was awesome just like all of the other reviews. This service from BogiDope is the only one of its kind. I have a teenage son and we are doing our due diligence to make sure we understand the medical process and be able to address previous doctors visits and procedures etc. It was priceless learning the system used for medical records request and the forms used in the process. This would help anyone ensure there isn’t something that can cause a problem. Thanks again Tigger and BogiDope!

  61. Thank you so much for creating the BogiDope website and all the resources you all provide. Chris’ ability to help me form my responses into more complete ideas that better accomplished the point of each question was invaluable.

  62. You should differentiate what the airlines as a company considers PIC and what the FAA considers it for an ATP. A lot of confusion on that topic, and this article didn’t really address it.

    1. You’re right. Part of the problem is that each airline counts PIC differently. If you look at Southwest’s definition versus Delta’s they’re nothing alike. This is an old post though, and probably needs and update.

  63. I can’t say thank you enough for all the help. Rick was kind, insightful, and provided a hugely valuable perspective on my application. This is probably the best possible way for anyone to prepare for the application process for ANG/UPT.

  64. Frances was very professional but also personable. Her knowledge was outstanding and was very helpful. The information she provided was truly priceless. I would recommend this consultation to anyone that has any doubts about their current health or past history and are looking to join!

  65. Humpty knows his stuff inside and out. He showed me how to build content in my resume/cover letter that fighter pilots can relate to. I knew I needed to switch some stuff up but didn’t know what it looked like and Humpty taught me what to do.

Humpty is funny and instilled confidence in me within 5 minutes of talking to him. He’s passionate about fighter aviation and helping the next generation. I’d run through a brick wall if he told me to.

  66. Humpty was great to work with, very professional and knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to help. It’s clear that he personally cares about helping customers and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for help with interviews or anything else.

  67. I absolutely found the curriculum on point and very helpful to set me up for success. It was key for me to create my profile on AirlineApps and Pilot Credentials. Additionally, I learned from your course to join a pilot organization and the Professional Asian Pilots Association (PAPA) has been outstanding…the BEST $45 I’ve ever spent for a membership!

I received awesome news recently as I was selected for the Southwest Airlines Destination 225 Program! I am looking forward to starting the military transition in order to be a future Southwest Pilot for the world’s most LUV’d airline. There were definitely ups and downs throughout this transition, however dreams do come true with resiliency. Thank you for creating the Cockpit2Cockpit: Military to Airline Transition Course! Keep on Aiming High!

  68. This service is awesome and I’m thankful I found it. I got answers to medical questions I couldn’t find anywhere. Tigger was awesome and took a lot of time talking about every question I had and went over and above to explain everything thoroughly. I’d recommend this to anyone pursuing a career flying in the military.

  69. Tigger was awesome! She answered questions I’ve been trying to find answers to for months. She is very knowledgeable and you can tell she cares about your success and future in the military. She went over and above to talk about everything I asked and explained it in great detail.

I would recommend this consultation to anyone who thinks they might have an issue at MEPS or Wright-Patterson. It’ll give you a peace of mind knowing which things will or will not require a waiver, and then knowing the appropriate steps it will take to start the process of getting them approved.

  70. Good morning sir, wanted to let you know I was selected for the ANG C-17 UPT pilot board! I really appreciate you taking the time help me with interview prep. It was a huge help.

  71. Outstanding interview prep! The online course and mock interview sessions are an absolute necessity for anyone trying to grab the ever-elusive UPT slot.

  72. Bogidope is such a fantastic resource. I’ve used it for a few years now as the end of my Active Duty time has come closer (job board and interactive map specifically) to get an idea of Guard/Reserve squadron locations and how those would line up with an airline gig. I used the Interview Prep course and it helped immensely with understanding the Guard hiring process and with building confidence for what to expect on the day of the interview/rushing the unit. Shout out to DJ, who was a great one on one coach, answered all of my questions, and made sure I was ready to go on the day of the interview. Fantastic resource and if you’re looking to make the jump from Active duty to Guard/Reserve or join the unit from the beginning, BogieDope is well worth the investment.

  73. Frances “Tigger” Burress was great. extremely informative, knew all the right steps and how to go to the next step. I HIGHLY recommend doing a consult if there are any sort of medical concerns. She even talked for 5-10 minutes after our appointment was technically over because she genuinely wants to help people achieve their goals of flying for guard or reserves. once again, I HIGHLY recommend.

  74. Frances “Tigger” Burress was fantastic! She was very helpful with advice and answered all of my questions. I really appreciated her help and highly recommend this to anyone with medical concerns.

  75. The Vice Commander for my ANG wing has “requested” my employer’s support for me to be absent for a UTA that was rescheduled to Thursday and Friday vs. the weekend but I’m also committed to a high-profile TDY with my civilian employer (USAF/AFMC) where I’m presenting at a conference to important nation-wide partners. If I can’t avoid erring altogether, I have to err on the side of the civilian position because that’s about 95% of my income, but I’d rather just point to the regulation.

  76. BogiDope helped prepare my resume, cover letter, and overall packet in order for me to be as competitive as possible. I felt as if I was given all of the tools necessary to be successful on this journey to gaining a UPT slot. Without BogiDope, I’m not sure if I would have been given the opportunity to interview with my hometown squadron.

  77. Life would be a lot easier if we all had an aunt who knew everything. Sadly, most of us don’t, but we do have a Tigger, and rather than once a year at Thanksgiving, she’s available right now on BogiDope.com.

As a prospective aviator who had a medical kerfuffle of the rarest sort, Francis “Tigger” Burress made me feel like my business was her business. Not to get her in trouble, but she spent well beyond the time allotted, and gave me the kind of direction that would make a compass useless.

But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers, is that Francis is the only one.

  78. Frances “Tigger” Burress was amazing, straightforward and reassuring all at the same time. Her insight was invaluable to me. Highly recommend for anyone with any doubts about anything medical related!

  79. Mr. Haldopoulos “Snip” is top tier! Extremely knowledgable, has incredible attention to detail, and has so much Air Force / ANG experience that you can’t go wrong with his expertise. Highly recommend!

  80. I purchased the 1 Hour Interview Prep Add-On and chose to work with D.J. as I was prepping for a C-130 interview. I found this to be incredibly helpful. D.J. was awesome to work with. He gave me his undivided attention and even worked with my tight deadline. As a C-130 pilot himself, D.J. was able to provide insight to the perspective the hiring board would have and what they were trying to determine with each question. D.J.’s coaching style was the perfect balance of honest/critical and encouraging. After 2 sessions with him, I felt confident and prepared for my interview and was hired by a C-130 unit! This session was not only worth every penny, but an enjoyable and rewarding experience. I cannot recommend these sessions enough and, more specifically, D.J. as a coach. I would give this service 10 stars if I could. THANK YOU BOGIDOPE AND D.J.!

  82. This course and my 1 on 1 with D.J. was an absolute game changer and absolutely aided in my success of getting hired. I came into this experience with a lot of “corporate America” interviewing skills but had never interviewed with the Guard/Reserve. I got a slot after my first interview. This course and my time with D.J. gave me insight to the perspective the unit has behind each question. This is worth every penny. I cannot recommend it enough!

  83. Hello! I have been trying to get into the air national guard for two years. Im living in Nashville. My recruiter has been holding my paperwork for two years and wont push it forward to get approval for a waiver from MEPS. I have followed up weekly for two years straight and i get the same run around. “We have to re-sign forms for MEPS.” I have been a pilot in general aviation for 10 years, was an applicant to the Air Force Academy with a waiver approved then and a congressional nomination, and I am an airline pilot. Im 27 and in the best shape of my life and want to make sure I give this the best shot I can but im stuck in limbo. Its an enlistment recruiter. I need assistance from someone higher up but I don’t know how to get that kind of help. If anyone on this forum has any suggestions that would be great!

    1. From the reading above I think you need to build your packet and go into a squadron or reach directly to a squadron POC. I am not sure if you are still looking but I would ditch that recruiter and go directly to the source.

  84. Don’t let the price scare you. As a poor recent college grad spending all his money on flying, it was worth it. Don’t gamble a life changing opportunity on $300 something bucks. I think the course was useful, but I probably got 75% of my skills learned from the live sessions with DJ. Not only did the package help you build better answers to some of the guaranteed questions, but it also helped you build confidence in your answers as you have someone who’s been on the other side of the table critiques you. Do what he says because he’s showing you the path to success. It’s just in your hands to apply it to the best of your ability.

Some additional tips I’d include that the course didn’t would be, get some nice plastic report folders with your application packet in there on nice resume paper. Hand those out when you get to the board and include and updates if you have them. I carried them all in a leather portfolio so that it wasn’t a mess.

  85. I finally got hired to fly F-16s at my home unit after working with both SIC and SMAX. I had been getting interviews previously but I feel BogiDope was the extra push I needed to actually land the job and I appreciate all the support your company has given me along the way.

  86. I did interview prep with SIC back in January and it helped tremendously. Although I didn’t get picked up after that interview, SIC was always cheering me on along the way. This past weekend I was picked up to fly F-16s for 2 different squadrons and I know I couldn’t have done it without the help of Bogidope, but more importantly without SIC. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be part of the fighter community and even more excited to see what the future holds as I start the process to become a viper driver in the ANG. Thank you again!

  87. Selected to fly KC-135’s after working with D.J. for two sessions. He was very personable and delivered on-target, specific feedback that helped me along through the interview process. Highly recommend this consultation.

  88. Frances Burress knows her stuff! She is extremely knowledgeable and easily clears out all those doubts and questions while being very honest and realistic. No unrealistic expectations from her, just all the help and insight you could ask for!

  89. Extremely knowledgeable! Nikki was beyond helpful in breaking down what a hiring board will be looking for.

Coming from the civilian world, I had a few friends who were in the Air Force. However, whenever I would ask them to proof my documents, I would get a plethora of different opinions without any solution.

All of the feedback was positive and helped advance my packet towards a more competitive theater. My confidence was boosted by having Nikki give feedback and then provide steps to fix whatever issues may have been apparent.

AAs an aircraft mechanic at a collegiate flight school, I am surrounded by flight instructors, flight students, and aspiring pilots. Once word got out that I was pursuing the Air National Guard as a pilot, I began to get questions from those around me. The first site I tell them to visit is BogiDope! There is so much information on the website regarding creating a packet, preparing for qualifying tests, UPT pipeline, and so much more! Most of my explanations either lead or end with, “have you checked out Bogidope”? The consultation, prep package, and overall amount of information have been a godsend to help me prepare and feel confident whenever taking the next step towards a UPT slot.

  90. Just want to give a huge thanks to your team. I am an AD medic (IDMT) in an AD F-35 squadron and have been pursing a UPT slot for fighters for a little over a year now. I competed the BogiDope interview prep in July after “hooking” my first interview with another squadron earlier this year. Thanks to your course, and lots of preparation, I shacked my second interview and got the job! So much so that the Sq/CC that hired me said I was the top interviewee in their pool of over 15. This course was worth every penny and really highlighted what I was missing. I won the lottery and was hired by a current Viper, soon-to-be F-35 squadron in my home state. Thanks again!

  91. Nikki was awesome and very helpful! For me, she was the perfect person to talk to. Provided a TON of useful feedback and offered further instruction going forward. We went a little over due to all of the information I was getting and Nikki made sure that she answered all my questions properly and fully. I have already recommended to a friend! A hundred bucks seemed steep but the information was priceless!

  92. I have been at the process of applying for units for the past 4.5 years. It was demanding, demoralizing, and very frustrating to be told “thanks but no thanks” 60+ times. SIC worked with my resume, cover letter, and prepped me for the interview process. I cannot say enough good things about him. He absolutely destroyed my cover letter/resume from front to back. It was eye-opening how much he found wrong with it. After I fixed those things, I was able to secure an interview with an F-16 unit at my number one location about 9 months later. He prepped me for my interview, and I ended up being the guy they called for the job. He gave me a great outline of what types of questions to expect and how to interpret what they’re really asking of me. He didn’t prep me with canned answers; it was more along the lines of the general philosophy of how to approach questions, and I think that made a huge difference. His general advice and willingness to help out was invaluable. I am so incredibly thankful, and could not have gotten the slot without his and Bogidope’s help. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner: it might have saved me 3.5 years, and several thousand dollars!

  93. I have done two sessions with Ms. Burress and each one has been an outstanding experience. She was prepared to cover all the topics I listed ahead of the sessions in addition to ones that popped up during the consultation. If you are having any stress at all about your IFC/PHA/medical exam, this can help get you the answers you need to help alleviate said stress and prep for the medicals. It is more than worth it!

  94. I enjoyed DJ’s feedback and help with resume and interview prep. He has many years of experience and with his advice, my packet was chosen for an interview out of over 100 applications. I enjoy that he’s straight to the point, no fluff. He tells me what I need to do to increase my chances of getting selected. His interview prep was very helpful, this is a very tough and competitive process and his guidance gave me a fighting chance.

  95. I just want to thank SMAX for his time and insight. It may seem crazy to you guys, but being able to talk to a fighter pilot 1-on-1 is not something that most people have access to. I was able to identify and address some of the more subtle nuances in what I was saying and the way I was saying it to better connect with someone in the fighter community.

I think the eCourse could be distilled into 5-10 key points that would take significantly less time to address. There are certainly some nuggets in there that you wouldn’t know if you weren’t in the FS community, but most of the information is simply common sense; although, maybe common sense isn’t as common as I think.

I see the 1-on-1 sessions as the real value in this package, and I feel like $99/hr is a reasonable price to pay for that. For this package, I would have liked to see at least 3 hours of counseling for that price.

  96. I was blown away by the detailed info I received. I’ve spent a fair amount of time googling pieces of info regarding medical specifics for this process but you don’t know what you don’t know. Having someone who is so experienced AND can look up specific conditions in the current Air Force medical standards during the session is game changer. I never fully trusted recruiters answers regarding specific medical issues, especially related to flying physicals, just because it is not their area of expertise and they want you to sign up regardless. But now I feel like I am equipped with the proper knowledge to move forward in the process and properly manage my expectations. I’m sure I will be back for a follow up consultation!

$129 for 30 minutes seems high to me mainly because you can’t address all concerns in that time. Overall I am very satisfied with the value but that is because Frances stayed on the call for much longer. I think a fair price would be like $150 for an hour (or 50 minute) consultation. That’s on par with an out of pocket session with a therapist in most places .

So glad I found you guys! I found out about you through the episode of the Afterburner Podcast featuring Slap.

  97. Awesome course. Come here to get the competitive edge. Especially with coaches like “Bigs” you’ll thank yourself in the long run instead of crying you didn’t get selected for an interview or slot

  98. 100% believe this course has given me the tools needed to best pitch who I am to units and land an interview. Nick and Wyatt were extremely helpful, went above and beyond to ensure I had the knowledge and know how to succeed.

  99. All great info and extremely helpful. For the site however, some of the lessons would not mark as complete despite being completed. It did not detract from the value of the course in any way, but wanted to share.

  100. Highly recommend the interview prep course. I interviewed at two different squadrons – one I went in preparing just by myself and the second one I caved and purchased this package. It was a night and day difference, and definitely was the tipping point as to why I landed a slot flying F-16s. Cannot recommend DJ enough. Since I was applying for a fighter position, I was expecting to be paired up with a coach who had a fighter background. Instead, due to a tight timeframe, I scheduled a coach with a different background, but I’m glad I did not let my hesitation prevent me from continuing. BogiDope teaches the interview process – this is applicable to all squadrons, and was far more critical and helpful in the end. DJ went above and beyond to prepare me for my interview, gave me frank, helpful advice on every answer, and was motivating and encouraging every step of the way. The support team at BogiDope has always been extremely responsive and helpful, and this course will be well worth your money when you get that call saying you got the job.

  101. I got hired to fly F-16s! Thanks so much for your help with interview prep – made a world of difference in how I was able to present my story. Super excited!!

  102. Highly recommend anyone who wants to be an aviator to schedule a session with BogiDope. Not only did I recieve the answers I needed to fill in some gaps but I got some great personalized advice from SMAX to get me going in the right direction. You won’t find that from an article, a recruiter, or anyone in the military who isn’t/wasn’t an aviator.

  103. Priceless resource, the best kept secret for aspiring aviators or those looking for an industry transition within the service, a collection of experts like this is a true gem, so happy to find this level of support and mentorship in my process!

  104. […] O-1's are promoted to O-2's automatically after two years. O-2: First Lieutenant (1Lt) – Also referred to as “Lieutenant (Last Name).” With few exceptions, O-2's are promoted to O-3's after two years (four total years of being a Lieutenant). via […]

  105. Entering the process to become an officer and pilot in the military is an extremely intimidating task. I had no idea what I was getting into, and as soon as I received my first interview I enrolled in the interview prep course through BogiDope. I can wholeheartedly say Bogidope was instrumental in making my dreams come true. I was selected to fly the C-17 in the reserves 2 hours from my hometown, and couldn’t be happier. I promise Bogidope will prepare you for any question they throw at you and you’ll be the most prepared man or woman in the room.

  106. I want to grow up and be Wyatt! He was super knowledgeable and willing to share his honest opinions and experiences with me on his active duty and now ANG career, comparing and contrasting the two! He was happy to answer all of my questions! Appreciate the gouge! Thanks, Wyatt!

  107. I like that this service exists. It is something I wish I was aware about a few years ago as I started this process. For someone that doesn’t have connections or points of contact in the bases they’d like to apply, this really helps how to approach and present yourself.

Nikki definitely is a subject matter expert and super thankful I chose her for the general strategy meeting. She helped fine tune the information I should present in applying for guard/reserve slots.

  108. I cannot stress how amazing Frances was during the consultation, I got both great information and a lot of personal advice that really set me at ease with this process. I got an email reach out from Frances before the appointment, I was able to share notes to help speed up the appointment and it made the consultation very easy!

Frances helped guide me through some of the documentation I would need to fill out for MEPS and any supplemental documentation I should have on hand and read through before the process. I got a great rundown of the difference between MEPS and the medical screening at Wright-Patterson for aviators. The notes I was able to get from the consultation were well-detailed and I feel a lot more confident with the process.

I think pricing is reasonable, the other websites I have seen for similar consultation are slightly higher priced than this ($150 for GoFlightMed), although I have not tried other consultations I think the information I got was well worth it.

  109. BogiDope has been super helpful in the process of learning more about the Guard and has provided a clearer picture of what that process looks like. I would highly recommend them if you plan on applying or interviewing with a unit. It’s a must!

  110. I just got the call that I was selected for F15Cs. I’m absolutely thrilled! All the applicants I interviewed with used bogidope at some point in preparation for this interview. I know we all went in knowing we did everything we could.

Bogidope gave me the peace of mind that I did everything I could to get that coveted slot. The mentorship and guidance helped me articulate and find the balance of polished and candid and ensure that I was putting forth the best packet I could. Thank you Nikki and bogidope!

  111. I came in thinking I was ready, I was not. Squadron interview has not happened yet but even after one practice session and looking over the recording I knew there was so much to work on and DJs lesson is a life saver. Everything DJ talked about was clear and made alot of sense. DJ is an outstanding coach.

Even after one interview prep session DJ has completely changed my thought process and preparation for my interview. His knowledge and advice is invaluable and Im very happy I decided to spend the money. Would highly recommend the interview prep and especially DJ!

  112. This service is not cheap and for good reason. The short amount of time you sit in front of the board may be the difference between a go/no-go. You will feel much more confident in your answers and how to really respond to the question being asked. The coaches/mentors know their stuff from experience and will get you to a place you need to have your best shot in the interview. Do yourself a favor, spend the money and be as ready as you possibly can for a chance at a life-changing career.

Having sat through a number of pilot boards, I could tell DJ knew his stuff. Even though this service was expensive, DJ told it like it is and straightened my answers out to where they needed to be and not what I wanted to hear. I appreciated the candid feedback which really helped get to me to the right place on my responses.

DJ said up front he would give me the truth and what was good/bad/ugly and boy did he deliver! Seriously, I felt way better about my chances after having sat through 2 hours of coaching from him.

The existing courses, the question bank, and the professionalism of the staff were spot on. Exceeded my expectations.

  113. I had the interview yesterday and found out shortly afterwards I got picked up. I really appreciate DJ’s help prepping for it. It was pretty straightforward and didn’t have any surprises. Thanks again!

  114. Got selected to fly C-130’s with my hometown unit and have Bogidope to thank for my success! Both the eCourse and interview prep with DJ left me feeling extremely prepared and confident for my interview. DJ did an amazing job coaching me
on how to incorporate the background and traits I possess to effectively answer questions that the board would ask. The amount of value you get from this service is well worth the price and I would highly recommend it. You guys are awesome and thanks for the help!

  115. Nikki did a fantastic job and provided excellent feedback on my resume and cover letter. She really exceeded my expectations. She even stayed longer than the scheduled time to go over some interview questions.

  116. I got hired to fly C-130’s on my first interview! I honestly believe I got the job because of BogiDope’s eCourses and interview prep sessions. It really prepared me for what to expect come interview day and I was ready for everything. DJ is amazing!! He really helped me sharpen my interview skills and helped me formulate a plan with how to structure my answers. Even if I was asked a specific question that we hadn’t covered in our sessions (we already practiced almost every question I was asked in the interview), we had created a gameplan to refer back to so that I could answer anything. That was a huge confidence boost to help me feel prepared and I would’ve been lost if I interviewed without those sessions. DJ helped me look at my background and really squeeze as much value out of it as possible and help me present myself as a competitive candidate. He’s a lifesaver!

  117. Thank you so much for helping this dream come true. Working with SIC through BogiDope has been a great experience and I really think the work we did was instrumental in getting hired.

  118. I greatly appreciated that Frances was able to view pertinent comments found in my summary prior to the meeting. This was accomplished through email, and allowed for an immediate meaningful discussion and uncomplicated determination of next steps.

The discussion provides great insight on the process: medical requirements, how to prepare, and what must be done next for the most successful result. While you may discover you have a laborious task ahead, you are better prepared not only through feeling a greater sense of knowledge and confidence but also understanding what must be effectuated to make your aviation goals materialize. If I need another meeting for more insight along the process, I will undoubtedly use the service again.

  119. Alex is very patient, friendly, yet professional. Not only was he on-time, we were able to confirm our session time slot before-hand. Alex is very knowledgeable, app process and his experiences/expertise. He gave his honest input and suggestions, which allowed me to confirm what I currently had or incorporate new insights. Alex was patient and answered all of my questions, not only in regards to the application process, but also some personal-interest questions related to the career field(s) and was able to provide me with his honest take on his experiences; he didn’t mind going a little over the allotted time to fully answer my additional questions. It is great to connect with someone with direct experiences in the exact field that I am trying to get into, given interesting “age waiver” hurdles. He had both manned and unmanned pilot experiences, which helped to going insight into both during one session — same goes for the Active Duty experiences and ANG/Reserve experiences. Overall a very positive experience. I have purchased the app/interview combo package, to move forward with additional help. I would highly recommend! Thank you!

  120. SIC was awesome, he went above and beyond. He went an hour past our allotted time and provided extremely helpful feedback. I feel beyond encouraged and hopeful for my future. I wish I did this sooner.

  121. I found [the App Prep eCourse] really helpful that the resume content was broken down into each section.

Mr. Haldopoulos provided great feedback and gave me potential paths to pursue that I haven’t considered. Seemed as if there is no one more knowledgeable on the topics than Mr. Haldopoulos. He gave me a clearer path on how to get my foot in the door and on the things I need to focus most on answering.

  122. Dük was the right person to answer my questions, as he has walked the path I wish to take into my military career. I really appreciated the fact that I was able to select from a list of coaches with various backgrounds in order to talk with someone that best fits my “dream sheet” scenario.

I think it was enough time to discuss my situation. Someone with more questions about the UPT process may need an additional session.

It was everything I hoped for, and I took away 2-3 pages of notes of ideas to improve my resume and test scores.

Thanks to the Bogidope team! I hope to be working with you again for interview prep soon!

  123. It can’t get more personalized than this. Real coaches–100%. I do lots of self development training and this is hands down the best of the best regarding ultra targeted consulting–straight to results.

  124. Signing up/scheduling the interview prep and paying for the service are two different actions on the website. Once a member schedules a session with a coach, they have to navigate to the products page to pay. Streamlined (schedule and pay) would make it easier.

I liked the video examples of answers (in the eCourse) to the big common questions.

Biggs was great on taking notes from our first session and comparing them with our practice during our second session. Appreciated the recordings of our sessions. Every question I had in my interview we had reviewed in the prep.

  125. Snip is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. He always goes above and beyond to make sure his candidates are set up for success. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

  126. The application and interview prep E-courses were great and the coaching was tremendously valuable. DJ knows his stuff and provided me with the coaching and insight to get the job!
I completely recommend the E-courses and the 1-on-1 coaching!

  127. I’m going be a F-22 Raptor pilot back home in Hawaii! I’m absolutely fired up about the opportunity and I’ll forever appreciate the help SIC lent me.

The interview went awesome and I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to work with you. I felt calm, cool, and confident throughout it and I can directly attribute our time spent together towards that. Everything just felt natural.

I’m thankful for BogiDope and I’ll be leaving high praise to anyone I speak with.

  128. Just got the call that I will be apart of the next generation of Hog drivers. I want to thank SIC for his time in coaching me, it obviously helped me achieve my dream. I’m still shaking with excitement for the future.

  129. I have really enjoyed getting to work 1:1 with Duk and Snip. Both were extremely knowledgeable and had great advice all around. I always leave the sessions wanting more because of how knowledgeable each coach is. I have recommended this service to several people.

  130. I want to write and say thank you for all of your coaching and advice during our Bogidope meetings. Due in very large part to that, I was selected to fly the KC-46!

Your advice was invaluable and I felt equipped and confident going into the interview thanks to the Bogidope courses and our one-on-one sessions.

If I could pass on any advice to future applicants/interviewees it would be to go in prepared for anything. I was expecting a fairly formal day of questions and proving myself. However, that wasn’t the case. The interview was formal, but for the rest of the day, the Squadron just wanted to see how I acted in the “down” time- whether that be at lunch or just waiting for the next event with everyone in the heritage room. So I think adaptability and an “up for anything” attitude are crucial for the interview day. I just wanted to share that in case you ever have another mentee like me who has a tendency to want to over-prepare for a certain situation or interview experience.

Thank you again for all of your help!

  131. The results are in and believe it or not……….I got the job!!! Still can’t believe it but hey here we are. Overall I would say that everything we went over was pretty much present in my interview.

The interview was an all day event for this squadron. It consisted of a line pilot interview, technical interview, commander’s interview, and a brief 30 minute stint in the simulator. The line pilot interview was what you would think the interview would be. It was basically like our mock interviews. The technical interview was just them seeing what all you remembered from what ever flight training you have had up to this point. the commander’s interview was like the line pilot interview but just with the commander. The simulator was them having you fly around and perform basic maneuvers and follow basic instructions. In addition I got to do a few gun runs. The catch was they were asking you questions about your application while your doing trying to fly. I had a little bit of a hard landing but the pilots told me don’t worry about it because the sim doesn’t fly like the real airplane lol. Nobody can seem to do a good landing in it.

Anyway, I think what you brought to the table for interview prep was on point. I wasn’t caught off guard by any of the questions because even though I can’t remember them, they were basically everything we went over and I stuck with my narrative. SIC is definitely the guy to go to for A-10 interviews. It really is crazy to think I would get a job offer at the first interview I have done, especially at my age being 28. I definitely couldn’t have made it this far without the help from SIC, SNIP, DJ, and BogiDope. Thank you guys so much again. I’ll see you up in the skies hopefully if medical doesn’t knock my ass out of the chase.

    ATTACK!!!

  132. Just wanted to thank you folks for this program, I was recently selected for a C-17 position in the guard. I got it on my 1st interview with my home station, definitely could not have done it without you folks. I prepared for the interview with a fighter pilot mentality, however my #1 choice was to fly the C-17. With DJ being the perfect coach for my option, he taught me how to strategically present myself. I firmly believe you have one shot to prove yourself to the boards, bogidope will 110% prepare you for that chance of a lifetime.

  133. Biggs was focused on the little details that creates the whole picture. He helped me get my timing right for all of my softball questions and made sure I had a good selection of stories to answer the curveballs. I also had issues with a low GPA and we hammered out a strong answer.

As for the price, I believe the interview prep ecourse is a little high at $169 on its own for how broad some of the information can be. However, with this package the money is made with the 1-on-1’s and I think you could charge more for that.

Because of Bogidope’s and Bigg’s help, I got hired to fly A-10’s. The entire package was an outstanding resource to help prepare for the interview. I know I had a leg up on some of my competition because of this course, and I will recommend everything bogidope offers to anyone interested in becoming a military pilot.

  134. DUK was great and provided a lot of feedback on what I should change on my cover letter and resume. I liked that he offered to record the session so I could reference back to it when I was making the corrections.

  135. DJ has had many years spent as part of the Air National Guard and it showed. He provided very useful information that was very similar to what I experienced in my interview. I felt way more prepared after the first interview prep class and even more so after completing subsequent interview preps.

  136. Snip was very knowledgeable. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Working around a schedule can be tough. I’d like to see one calendar that lists who can work each day instead of hunting through each person’s profile.

  137. I will say that Mr. Jeff Durbin and Mr. Alex Haldopoulos had different tactics on how to approach the interview. Alex’s strategy ended up being most in line with my personality and goals and was why I ended up doing an additional session with him. I think it would be helpful if in the bios of each coach there was a snippet about their strategy for winning an interview or a short video clip that gave a better sense of their personalities. I initially chose the slots that worked best with my schedule regardless of who the coach was, but am so glad I had the opportunity to work with both of them!

  138. The information and help I received about my application and the entire hiring process is more then I could have asked for. I was looking someone to help me with my package but never found someone specifically for military pilots, Until I found BogiDope.. My package is now a lot stronger and I am excited to learn more during my Interview prep.

  139. The Interview Prep E-Course and the 1-on-1 coaching with David Spisso truly helped me to feel prepared for interview day. Instead of walking into the interview hoping that I had prepared properly, I knew that I was confident and ready thanks to Bogidope!

  140. DJ and the Bogidope crew are life changers! I had a few interviews prior to purchasing the course. I completed the course, and my next interview the following week I was hired! The insight is invaluable and the feedback/recommendations are spot on! Can’t describe in words how beneficial this course is. Applicants, buy the course!! Thanks DJ!

  141. The BogiDope interview prep course overall seems only slightly overpriced for what you get in the course itself. The videos are fairly short (4-6 minutes average) and there was only a minor addition to the context. HOWEVER, the question bank and the 1-on-1 interviews are absolutely the crux of this particular eCourse. These are absolutely key and are amazing tools for anyone’s kitbag. Maintaining access to the eCourse will mean that I will continue to refer to the awesome context for future interviews!

  142. BogiDope is amazing and their services are absolutely necessary for securing a UPT slot with Guard/Reserve units as they are unlike any other job interview.

Snip is all the way around outstanding. I would have paid more for the help I received!

  143. I got selected for a C-130 unit near my home town. I really appreciate DJ’s help with interview prep, I can’t tell you how much better of an applicant it has made me. They said my interview dazzled the Board and I couldn’t have done it without the help.

  144. Thank you Sic and Team BogiDope for all your help so far. I am looking forward to the working through the rest of the application process with your help!

Sic was flexible and was able to spend some extra time with me making sure we got to go over everything. I feel so much better about this process now after having the chance to talk about it.

  145. Tigger answered all of my questions and made me feel significantly more comfortable about moving forward with the process and getting through the hurdles of MEPS and FC1! I sleep easier at night now that my concerns have been addressed. I got conflicting information from the recruiter, the Internet, and USAF/ANG veterans, so getting a straight answer from an expert was exactly what I needed. I never could have gotten face time with an expert at Tigger’s level without BogiDope! Thanks so much! Totally worth peace of mind!

  146. I would like to thank you guys for the help and guidance. Your resources and personal input were 100% instrumental in my getting hired. Also, it turns out quoting Ricky Bobby in the interview is effective.

  147. My consultation with Frances “Tigger” Burress was a huge weight off of my shoulders! Even if you don’t hear that you’re in the “all-clear”, the consultation is still a great way to start putting together a plan for any potential waivers you may need and what medical documents to start collecting.

  148. The interviews went awesome. I accepted the job at the (C-130 squadron). Thank you for all of your help. Every question that we went over in the interview prep was what was asked by both boards.

  149. The military medical system can be pretty stressful, especially in flying career fields. I found Doc Baffic to be very knowledgeable and helpful at answering my questions so that I could be sure I was setting myself up for success at MEPS.

  150. 157 applicants (about 20 interviewees) for one pilot slot and two nav slots. I found out a few days later that they had permission to hire a second pilot. I was selected for a pilot slot.

Thank you for your help. The prep course and your mock interviews were absolutely worth it. I know we ran longer than the scheduled time slots, and I appreciate your extra time and effort.

  151. Gas was fantastic! It was a great call and great conversation! I definitely learned a lot and he was very helpful. He is a great guy! And I’m now confident I shouldn’t have any medical issues.

  152. BogiDope is a one stop shop and their entire team is extremely professional and helpful. I wanted to make sure that I put my all into this process so no matter what happened, I could say I gave it everything. BogiDope and D.J., who was my coach, helped me to polish my personal story and journey and to be able to relate that to the qualities and skills pilot boards are looking for. I had so much clarity after our first session and got lots of great feedback which I was able to then work on prior to the final session. Having two sessions really helped work out any kinks and gave a tremendous amount of confidence heading into my interview. Thanks to the in-depth eCourse and the 2 interview sessions, I was able to land my dream pilot slot first time through. I will be recommending these courses to anyone I meet going through this process.

  153. BogiDope’s combo package is an amazing investment in your future as an AFR/ANG Pilot. I watched my application package transform into one that stood out amongst hundreds of others, landing me an interview with my dream squadron. The eCourses are designed professionally and efficiently. Each section was packed with great tips and advice from experts who know exactly what units look for in an applicant. It is designed by pilots who have been through the process themselves, sat on interview boards, and understand what it takes to succeed. I had the opportunity to work with D.J. Spisso on both my app & interview prep. D.J. offered advice & guidance that I would not have been able to receive on my own. The interview prep included great information about what to expect, how to answer tough questions, and how to succeed. D.J. helped to work with me to figure out my strengths and how to present myself in the interview. By using the BogiDope Combo Package, I was able to land my dream pilot slot on the first try. I recommend to anyone who wants this opportunity, to make the investment in your future with the help of BogiDope!

  154. Thank you for getting me on the list with Dr. Althoff as soon as it was available. Helped out a bunch as I am currently working with my Squadron Commander to get a letter from him submitted with the rest of my waiver package before the review board finishes going through my files. It will be one more thing in the toolbox to help out with their decision.

I can’t say enough good things about the conversation and recommendations I was able to get from Dr. Althoff. Its easy to tell that he has a passion to help people, and he certainly understands the process to help put you at ease. I feel I can say that anyone who finds themselves in a similar waiver situation will 100% benefit or have some positive take away from speaking with Dr. Althoff. This is especially helpful for ‘off the street’ guys or gals like myself who don’t know all the ins and outs. I can say that earlier on I used a similar service that is primarily for commercial pilots, although it was helpful, I felt like I was more of number to the other caller. It did not feel like that at all with this call…

As a whole, the process was very easy, and I really only have good things to say. Being able to submit my documents ahead of time and give him a quick update prior to the conversation I felt was very beneficial. Makes it much more efficient while on the phone/zoom so you can take advantage of the time and know what topics to hit on. I think this service will be widely beneficial and hope that any candidate struggling through this part of the process takes advantage.

  155. I worked with Biggs, and I would *highly* recommend him, and this entire program in general. I was one of the candidates getting a bit long in the tooth age-wise, but a benefit of that is a lot of civilian work experience, especially with interviewing. While, in general, I feel like communication is one of my stronger skill sets, this course taught me how to take that skill set not just to the next level, but up multiple levels (read: I wasn’t nearly as polished as I thought I was). I left my interview feeling confident–I kid you not: I did multiple fist pumps in their bathroom mirror afterwards to release the excitement and energy–and I was blessed to end up getting a true dream slot with a unit and mission I love. I couldn’t have done it without this course.

The key things I want to drive home are these:

    1. If you want to be a pilot, odds are, you’ve already spent several thousands of dollars in flight training and such. And as a Guard or Reserve applicant, you’re likely going to spend $10K+ on working through your PPL, traveling to rush units, mailing packages, traveling to interview, etc. Some of the best advice I’ve received is–in business and in leisure–don’t balk in the margins. What that means is, if you’re already spending $10k+ on something, what’s another $300 towards your life’s dream? I say all of that to say, DON’T LET THE PRICE TAG GIVE YOU PAUSE. BUY THIS. PERIOD. The value of the online content paired with the mock interviews is worth multiples more than what they’re charging.

    2. You may be tempted to skip the online content and just focus on the interviews–DON’T. Read through *all* of it. I referenced it before and after my actual mock interviews and it’s great content that will really help you hone in your interview craft. You may only get one shot at an interview, and you’ve already paid for the content at this point, so you may as well get the most out of it!

    3. The way they help you take your lift experiences and coach you on how to tie those into strengths, and to give quality, engaging answers is ::chef’s kiss::. I’ll leave it at that–I don’t want to encroach into trade secret territory and giving away their content for free–but *this* is the aspect I felt takes you to another planet. Biggs coached me through this, helped me choose quality stories, and helped me understand how those not only answer questions but help me show I could be of value/a good fit with the unit, too.

If you’re a Guard/Reserve candidate and you’re reading this and you’ve got an interview coming up, just buy this service. Period. It will be some of the best money you’ve ever spent, I promise you.

  156. I definitely understand that you have to have somewhat generic content since you’re providing it for civilian -> UPT, prior service -> UPT and Rated, but it would be nice to see more examples for each. Sometimes the example was not helpful at all since it covered someone with prior service and I am civilian only. Overall though it’s great!

  157. DUK was awesome to work with. He really helped me it across all the important points I wanted to in my package. He was extremely knowledgeable and also receptive to my feedback and suggestions. Overall awesome guy and will seek his help for the interview portion. Thanks again for what y’all are doing!

  158. D.J. was great! He was very knowledgeable in what the boards want to see. I really benefited his constructive criticism. I needed someone to tell me which details that I had in my resume/letter were bad. The honesty was greatly appreciated.

I feel so much better about my resume and cover letter. I think it makes me appear much more desirable.

  159. Just wanted to let you know that I received a pilot slot with the 119th FS in the NJANG. Thank you so much for your help and I look forward to joining the F-16 community!

  160. Snip was great! Went way above and beyond to help me get prepared for multiple different fighter interviews.

I was hesitant about the price tag at first, but the prep was worth it’s weight in gold for helping me get out of my shell and learn how to confidently show off my achievements and why I would be the best guy for the job. I’ve recommended it to all of my friends that are applying as well- can’t say enough good things!

One small thought would be maybe a little more instruction for units that require a personal pre-recorded video as one of the interview phases. 99% of the info is covered in the “Tell Me About Yourself” question prep stuff, but maybe some specifics on what not to do when you’re recording or other ways to stand out but keep the video professional.

  161. Just wanted to say thank you for all the help. I couldn’t have done it without your advice. I got hired in toledo. Now on to the next steps for me. Thanks again

  162. I worked with snip for two sessions. Just got picked up as a Primary UPT candidate at an F-16 unit. Here’s my feedback:

1.) I really enjoyed Snip, I felt like he was on my team. He’s great at offering actionable critiques civilly. He also went over the prescribed time both sessions which was again evidence that he was for me.

2.) While there is no way to prepare for everything, I thought that the structure of the question bank forced me to get my stories together to help paint a clear, inspiring and genuine, picture to the board members. Good on BD for that.

3.) The questions packet was a good tool and so was the interview packet. Again, I felt there was no way to be prepared for all questions but the question bank got my gears turning.

4.) Honestly, overall I am very satisfied with BD services— even after my first interview in SD two weeks ago, which I was not selected for, I felt prepared.

  163. Very in depth and helped me answer anything that came up, even if it wasn’t word for word. When I went into my interview nothing caught me off guard.

  164. I had my first interview this past weekend with the South Dakota ANG, and got the call yesterday that I got the job! I bought the interview prep package and worked with Snip for both sessions. I cannot express to you how grateful I am for the service you guys are providing and Snip’s guidance. I had done a ton of studying and preparing on my own for the interview, and considered not purchasing any professional services, but boy am I glad I did. I think I was on the right track and had some decent responses, but working with Snip really helped refine my approach and gave me a ton more confidence going into the interview. So, thank you guys so much for helping guys like me land their absolute dream job. Down the road if I ever run across anyone who is looking at the Guard, I will absolutely point them towards BogiDope and Snip.

  165. I wanted to thank you and Bogidope for your help and mentorship throughout my journey of trying to get sponsored by a unit. I graduated in May and commissioned into the USAF Reserve the same day. I was unsponsored Reserve and trying to find a squadron sponsor. You guys helped me perfect my application packages and land interviews with the 190th Fighter Squadron in Boise, ID and the 194th Fighter Squadron in Fresno, CA. I just got the amazing call that I was hired as the primary UPT candidate for the 194th Fighter Squadron in CA to fly Eagles! I am beyond excited for this opportunity and looking forward to the hard work ahead! I believe you mentioned that you fly F-15Cs? If so, I hope to see you in the Big Blue someday!

  166. Bogidope’s service has been invaluable to me. You helped provide the tools I needed to build a strong cover letter and resume, as well as the material and confidence to tackle interviews.

With this, I was able to put them to the test in another two interviews and landed the last one! The Red Tails want to send me to UPT!

Thank you for working with me over the last few years. I hope you guys keep growing. You have an awesome business that I have and will continue to recommend to anyone dreaming of flying for our country.

  167. I got an offer at the 301st RQS in Florida. I can’t even begin to tell you what a huge relief it is to be finally have a concrete offer somewhere. I have no doubt your feedback helped me not hook that interview.

  168. D.J. took the time to work on my overall approach and thought process concerning the interview. That was the game changer – being able to reframe my attitude about the interview and pitch to the board. I appreciated that he genuinely cared and took the time to figure out where I was at. Then he tailored his criticisms and advice to what he saw would make the biggest difference.

  169. Without D.J.’s help, my application would have been just adequate and far too long.

The only thing I would say is having one set style potentially makes it obvious that several applicants may have all gone through the same service? The one other thing I’d say is, for those of us that are a bit older and lots of work experience, the format for work and school sections adds some unnecessary lines and shortens the space for details in each bullet. Of course, that also forces brevity, which also has a lot of merit.

Hopefully I get some interview selections and then get the interview prep package!

  170. Dover picked me up for UPT flying the C-17. Thanks a lot for your help!

Thanks again and thank you for making such an awesome website. It really helped in my search for squadrons that are hiring. I recommend it to anyone I talk to who’s interesting in becoming a military aviator.

  171. Great news! I got the spot! It looks like I will be flying the F-35. Your help and feedback a long the way was invaluable.

I think I might have bought the first BogiDope consulting packages when the business was first established. Prior to your website, I was cold calling these units, handing in 4 page resumes with sub 50 AFOQT scores, and then never hearing anything.

Since working with you the past few years, I learned what parts of my package I needed to fix, and where I should spend my time. Not originally knowing anyone in military aviation, talking to you in our conversions helped steer both my military and civilian careers. I definitely plan on continuing to use BogiDope consulting in the future to enhance both careers if needed. I couldn’t have recommended you guys more to other candidates on the circuit, and I can not thank you enough.

  172. “Slap” is a resume, cover letter WIZARD! 10 out of 10 would recommend him to anyone. After I get the job… I don’t need more competition than there already is!

Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I hope to see more people on your staff like John. My application is no longer something I worry about.

  173. I believe that I got the information I needed at a reasonable price. That’s saying a lot too because I’m pretty skeptical about paying for these sorta of things, but it was absolutely worth it to get the input I needed.

John answered all my questions and turned an ok resume and cover letter into a great one!

Keep providing the service! Lots of people dreaming of being a pilot that don’t know about the Guard or Reserve way!

  174. I got picked up by the 171st ARS which is my local unit so I couldn’t be happier. I have no doubt that the app review we did together helped push me to the top of their list. You guys do great work for the community so I’m glad I can pass along an opportunity to help someone out.

  175. The templates were fantastic and the 1 on 1 advice was very useful. I was able to ask about additional things to make myself more competitive and I feel way more confident I am ready to send out my packet.

  176. Thank you John for your priceless knowledge and advice! I could not have done this without your mentorship and guidance. Will be soon flying the C-17 for the Hawaii Air National Guard!

  177. I loved the way the mock interview was conducted. Feedback after every question was helpful instead of waiting until the very end and doing it all at once. Great format.

I felt really confident walking into the interview. No matter the question asked, I had an answer. Both Slap and Bender were super chill which helped facilitate a productive conversation.

I will do my best to spread the word of the services that BogiDope offers.

  178. I scheduled the prep as soon as I landed my first interview with a fighter squadron. I got the job. BogiDope helped me frame my experiences into a cohesive pitch that was honest and impactful.

Objectively, my interview strategy and skills were improved. Subjectively, the Interview Prep made me walk in with high confidence.

If you land an interview, this consult is a no brainer.

  179. Extremely informative, and very applicable to interviews/similar social interactions in general – A lot of the non-verbal advice was invaluable.

Something I would’ve found useful would have been in the “what not to say” section. As the Interview Guide said, it’s not a bad thing to disclose that you’ve applied to other squadrons, however, I’ve heard advice that for someone who wants fighters, they should not be afraid to say that they ONLY want to fly fighters, and won’t compromise by considering heavies or other airframes. In fact, I’ve heard that when asked, for example, “would you fly C-130’s?” if the applicant’s answer is anything but “No, I only want fighters” or something along those lines, that the interview board would consider that negatively.

Also, for the “would you kill someone” questions, I’ve heard to not be wishy-washy here. The answer should always contain a confident call of judgement, and no hesitation to act. A lukewarm “yeah, I guess if I had to…” sort of answer would be viewed negatively.
Overall, one of my interviewers said basically to try and relax, and not worry too much about about answering the questions precisely – The intent of the questions is often to simply serve as a jumping-off point to get to know the applicant better.

The questions were organized very logically, and the blue/green questions tailored to prior-military/UPT candidates was very informative. However, I drew a total blank for many of those questions, and didn’t really know how to approach it. Perhaps have a couple of bullets to help get someone started on research for that answer would be helpful. For example, the question “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?” might have some bullets like “Flying part-time? full-time? getting 4FLUG or IPUG?”. Overall – great summary of other online resources, and then some.

  180. John’s live interview feedback was incredibly useful. The most important part of it to me was understanding what a good interview answer sounded like in terms of cadence, organization, and content, since I was able to apply that to my other interview questions.

  181. Very comprehensive and everything was expanded on in addition by my BogiDope coach.

In the interview, every question (besides bespoke to my resume) could be found in the question bank

  182. It was awesome to see the passion my coach had for preparing me as he is someone who has been through the ANG selection process himself. Great company and even though I did not get the slot today, I will continue to work with BogiDope and most defiantly recommend your services to others like me.

  183. I was really glad I did the interview prep package and would have paid more, though I’m not sure I would have thought the same thing before going through it. I only realized how useful it was after going through the process and an interview and having the interview match up very closely with the prep.

  184. Thank you again for helping me with my resume and cover letter a few months back. I wanted to let you know that I was selected for an interview in April with the 357 AS at Maxwell AFB, the squadron I was hoping for. All of your help was definitely worth it. In the next couple weeks, I do plan to purchase the interview prep to ensure that I will be completely prepared!

    Thanks again for everything.
